Boys II Men
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hartford’s Boys II Men Event is an opportunity to see how our clubs make a positive impact on the lives of young men in Hartford.
The Boys II Men annual celebration is part of our Passport to Manhood program that helps Club members navigate the difficult passage from boyhood to manhood – including decision-making, self-esteem, relationships with girls, responses to authority, healthy lifestyles, ideas about fatherhood, academic success, employment and careers, and conflict resolution.
Passport to Manhood engages young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior. Each participant receives a “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth.
Each of the program’s 14 sessions use interactive activities to focus on a specific aspect of character and manhood. It also includes a service project where boys learn the importance of giving back to the community.
