The Asylum Hill Clubhouse opened in 2004 and is one of our largest Club sites in the City of Hartford. Like all of our Clubs, the Asylum Hill Clubhouse consists of supportive staff members and volunteers. Our members grow and thrive in a stable, positive environment that allows them to feel both physically and emotionally safe.
Visit us at the Club and check out our Teen Center, full-size gym, game room and computer lab. Bring your friends and meet new ones. Time spent after school at the Asylum Hill Boys & Girls Club is time well spent!

Unit Director: Peter Lewis
Peter Lewis joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford movement in 2006 as a Youth Development Professional. Over the last 11 years he fortunately has had the opportunity to assist in the mentoring of our young people, facilitate programs and cultivate relationships. He has also completed organizational trainings, such as the Youth Development Professionals Academy (YDPA) and Middle Management Institute (MMI). Through much tutelage, he’s learned many key concepts. Peter believes in consistency, and stands by his motto “firm but fair”. Throughout his tenure, he has mastered how to build positive relationships with youth. Peter is currently the Unit Director of the Asylum Hill Boys & Girls Club. His role is to ensure that programs are being ran effectively, maintain the success of partnerships and collaborations, while managing part time staff.
